Install Cretania
Cretania is its own engine on top of Minecraft 26.3, not a modpack: no loose mods, no loaders. One installer puts everything in your launcher and the game keeps itself up to date.
- Download for Windows .exe
- Download for Mac with Apple silicon .dmg · M1 or newer
- Download for Mac with Intel .dmg
- Download for Linux: Ubuntu, Debian, Mint .deb
- Download for Linux: Fedora, openSUSE .rpm
- Download for Universal .jar · any system with Java
- Download for Android APK
Server address: mc.cretania.net
In 3 steps
- Download — The installer for your system. It brings its own Java: nothing else needed.
- Open it — Pick your launcher (the official one, Prism, Modrinth, CurseForge…) and click Install.
- Play — Open your launcher, choose the Cretania profile and hit Play. Join mc.cretania.net.
Every time you hit Play it updates itself. The version is mandatory: if the server moves to a new version, the game updates, restarts and tells you why.
Android & iPhone
The same server as on PC, with touch controls. Android installs from the APK; iPhone needs SideStore and a computer, just once. Both apps are in beta.
Android
- Android 10 or newer
- 4 GB of RAM or more
- Vulkan (almost every phone from the last few years)
- Wi-Fi recommended the first time
- Download the APK with the yellow button.
- Open it. Android will ask permission to install apps from your browser: allow it (only the first time).
- Open Cretania, tap “Check my phone” and then “Install Cretania”: it downloads Minecraft from Mojang and Cretania from our server.
- Tap Play. Every time you play, the app and the game update themselves.
iPhone
Apple doesn’t allow Java games to be installed from a website: the app is signed on your iPhone with your Apple ID (SideStore), and Java runs fast thanks to JIT (StikDebug).
- Prepare the iPhone. Install LocalDevVPN from the App Store, open it and tap Connect. It’s a local VPN: nothing leaves your iPhone.
- On your computer, just once. On Windows, install iTunes first. Install and open iloader, plug in the iPhone, tap Trust and sign in with your Apple ID (it goes to Apple; Cretania never sees it). Click “Install SideStore” and then, under StikDebug, “Install”.
- Allow it on the iPhone. Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → your Apple ID → Trust. Then Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode → turn on (it restarts).
- Install Cretania. With LocalDevVPN connected, open the mobile page on your iPhone and tap “Add Cretania to SideStore”; then Install.
- Play. Open Cretania from StikDebug (not from its icon): that turns on JIT so Java runs fast.
FAQ
- Is it a modpack? Do I need Forge, NeoForge or Fabric?
- No. Cretania is its own engine on top of Minecraft 26.3: there are no loose mods or loaders to install. The installer puts everything in your launcher.
- What’s the server address?
- mc.cretania.net, no port. If you had another one saved (with :25566 or from the old 1.21.1 network), switch to this one.
- Is it free? Which version of Minecraft do I need?
- Joining is free. It runs on Java Edition 26.3, and the installer sets up the right version for you. On Android and iPhone the app takes care of it.
- Why does it tell me to update?
- Everyone plays on the same version as the server. When a new one is out, the game updates and restarts by itself when you hit Play.
- Why is there no Nether or End?
- The new world started with both closed. What used to come only from the Nether is sold at the staff shops.
- Do I need to speak Spanish?
- No. Most of the community speaks Spanish, but text chat arrives translated into your language, so you can play in English.
