What is Cretania?
A Minecraft server with its own engine. Cretania runs on Minecraft 26.3 and comes with Create, flying airships, hunting, living villages, seasons and dungeons built in. It’s not a modpack — there are no mods to install.
Build machines and airships, trade at the shops, join a clan and explore a brand-new world that opened on October 5. Play from PC, Android or iPhone, all on the same server.
There’s a new version almost every day, and the game updates itself when you hit Play.

What’s new — Version 0.1.78
More stable, and the horizon is back
- Brass controls screen: your keys by category, with animations, conflict warnings and profiles (on mobile, you place your buttons). It shows once when you join, then from Controls, pause or the tablet.
- Tutorial book, starting with «Your first Create machine», step by step.
- The server no longer slows down when one player hits an error: only that player is handled apart for a moment, never everyone.
- Furnaces, hoppers and spawners work again next to very busy areas, and crops grow at their normal pace.
- Long view distance is back: the horizon arrives even when the server is busy.
- Graves: lost ones return their items to their owner as soon as there is room, and no more are lost.
What’s in today
- Create, rewritten — Create, Aeronautics, Connected and their addons (Propulsion, Power Grid, nuclear, Steam ’n’ Rails…) running on the engine, with their own logic and numbers.
- Airships 1:1 with Aeronautics — Custom physics, levitite like in Aeronautics, and you can walk and parkour across the deck. Create-style combat blocks, turrets, lances, a cockpit HUD and an arcane portal.
- Hunting and breeding — Almost 60 wild animals by biome, in herds, with quality meat and hides to tan. Breeding, herding, a shepherd’s crook, cowbells and feeders; horses with foals, coats and markings.
- Living villages — Villagers who cook and work the tavern, sawmill, mill and bakery with Create, with resident cards, family trees and trading. They buy your game by quality.
- Seasons, cold and heat — One season per real week. Bundle up in winter, watch out for metal in the desert; campfires and braziers keep you warm. Sleeping doesn’t skip the night, but it doesn’t use up food.
- World dungeons — Six themes spread across the map, with Create puzzles, custom mobs, a mini-boss and chests that spin like a slot machine. No block breaking inside.
- The Spider King and his Nest — A countdown event: the Nest bursts out in a neighborhood, the entrance is in a basement, and the King scales to how many players take him on. His loot includes the Nest armor.
- Staff shops — A counter with a display case and a shopkeeper; buy and sell from one window, with a self-balancing economy. They sell what you can no longer get from the Nether.
- Hard recipes — Anything beyond base Create costs more (“Chinese torture”): arc furnace, electrolysis, steel, refining, plastics… Machines are animated in the recipe viewer.
- Automatable resources — Copper, zinc, tin, platinum, thorium and uranium from stone and ore veins with long machine chains. Doable, but it’s a grind.
- Combat and PvP — Per-weapon attacks; greatsword, halberd, axe, mace and flail are slower and fairer against players. A four-tier jetpack and grappling maneuver gear.
- Voice chat and translation — Our own encrypted voice chat, nothing to install (Caps Lock to talk, V for settings). Text chat arrives translated into your language.
- Custom menus and in-world UI — A tablet with ranks, permissions, land and airship claims — all without commands. Optional: screens floating in front of you (Spatial GUI). Mouse Tweaks-style controls and graves when you die.
- Recipes (EMI), tooltips (Jade) and Ponder — Recipe search, an info card for whatever you’re looking at, and animated tutorials (hold W over a block).
- Portals and dimensions — Seamless portals you can see through. At launch, the Nether and the End start closed.
- Replays, skins and map — Flashback to record your sessions, custom skins and a map that draws airships too.
- Mobile — Android app with touch controls drawn by the game. iPhone in beta via SideStore.
FAQ
- Is it a modpack? Do I need Forge, NeoForge or Fabric?
- No. Cretania is its own engine on top of Minecraft 26.3: there are no loose mods or loaders to install. The installer puts everything in your launcher.
- What’s the server address?
- mc.cretania.net, no port. If you had another one saved (with :25566 or from the old 1.21.1 network), switch to this one.
- Is it free? Which version of Minecraft do I need?
- Joining is free. It runs on Java Edition 26.3, and the installer sets up the right version for you. On Android and iPhone the app takes care of it.
- Why does it tell me to update?
- Everyone plays on the same version as the server. When a new one is out, the game updates and restarts by itself when you hit Play.
- Why is there no Nether or End?
- The new world started with both closed. What used to come only from the Nether is sold at the staff shops.
- Do I need to speak Spanish?
- No. Most of the community speaks Spanish, but text chat arrives translated into your language, so you can play in English.
